Today I’m really excited to talk about my recent thredUP shopping experience! thredUP is an online consignment retailer. You may hear ‘consignment’ and think “ew, used clothing”, but let me assure you, this isn’t your average consignment store. thredUP is extremely picky about the clothing/accessories they accept (actually, they only accept about 40% of what is sent to them), so you can be assured that the quality is top notch. All of the pieces I received are in ‘like-new’ condition. They are constantly adding to their inventory, so you never know what you’ll find. I had so much fun browsing their site and actually ended up spending more than I anticipated (in addition to this outfit which was gifted to me). They carry many different brands, including Target, J. Crew, Kate Spade, Tory Burch, and so many others (the list is HUGE).
So let’s talk about how much money you can save on high-end pieces on thredUP. For instance, these green skinny jeans that I am LOVING. They’re Hudson and retail for around $170. They were only $33 on thredUP! Crazy, right?! This striped tee from Madewell was only $17 (originally $60), and the white Brahmin bag was $90, when it’s normally around $245! In addition to these pieces, I also bought a cute Lilly Pulitzer tee for $16 (originally $60), which will also go perfectly with the jeans!
These thredUP pieces are definitely going to be part of my Spring capsule wardrobe. Creating a capsule wardrobe is all about cleaning out the pieces you no longer wear, and replacing them with a handful of go-to pieces that you can wear multiple ways. I plan to wear these Hudson jeans with different tees and blouses all through Spring. This Madewell striped tee would also be really cute with a skirt or boyfriend jeans. It’s all about finding versatile pieces you can mix-and-match. And as far as refreshing your closet (something I do constantly lately), thredUP will send you a free clean out kit. You fill it up and send it back to them. Then you can earn money for those pieces that were just collecting dust in your closet anyway! I just ordered my first clean out kit and can’t wait to send in some stuff that is taking up valuable real estate in my closet! 😉
I’m so excited that thredUP asked me to work with them, because I really love their site and have already told so many people about it! I will definitely be shopping with them again soon. Try them out and receive $10 off your first order here.
Also, if you’re interested in shopping this look, I’m linking similar pieces below! 🙂
Have a great day!
