I’m so excited about today’s post! I’ve never done a “Feature Friday”, but I know you will love this girl-boss as much as I do! We have a lot in common, including both being fashion bloggers and registered nurses! We have very similar style, too, so I just KNOW you’ll want to check her out! Meet my friend, Ashley Donielle!
Hi Ashley! Can you start off by telling us a little about yourself?
“Hi Alissa! First off, thanks for featuring me on your blog today…I’m very excited to be here! I’m a born and raised California girl, and I blog travel and fashion over on my blog AshleyDonielle.com. In addition to blogging, I’m a wife, a registered nurse three days a week, and a Stella & Dot Associate Director with a team of over 50 fabulous stylists. My life is crazy busy, but I wouldn’t have it any other way because it’s SO fun!”
What inspired you to start a fashion blog?
“I’ve always loved everything about fashion. Runways, trend reports, New York Fashion Week…all of those things and more make me extremely giddy and happy. My husband and I travel a lot, so starting a travel and fashion blog was something I had thought about for a while, but never actively pursued. About a year ago, I kept getting a lot of questions about travel itineraries and outfits I was wearing on trips when we were traveling. I thought to myself, “wouldn’t it be amazing if I could create a “hub” of some sort to send people to, so that they can easily access what we did on our trips and get some outfit inspiration all at the same time?” After a couple of months of research, a lot of courage building, and the help of my really supportive husband, I created my blog AshleyDonielle.com.”
How would you describe your personal style?
“My style is constantly changing. Some days my style is classy, full of blush tones, pearl earrings, floral dresses. Other times it’s on the edgier side, full of distressed denim, Frye boots, and hip moto jackets. That’s one of my favorite things about fashion and trending styles…you can create any type of look, and with a little bit of confidence, rock it.”
What was one of your most exciting moments so far as a fashion blogger?
“This is a hard one, because it’s all so exciting for me! I would have to say that getting my photos reposted by bigger brands and companies is always a highlight for me. Seeing my pictures that I work really hard to create being reposted is such a joy. I’ve been reposted by Larsson & Jennings, Jillian Harris, Stella & Dot, Sketchers, and Goodnight Macaroon, and it’s just so crazy to me every single time that happens. I still see it happening and think “is that really me?!?”
You wear so many hats! You work full time as a nurse, run a successful Stella & Dot business and team, all in addition to blogging. How do you balance it all?
“How DO I balance it all? I’m really not quite sure! Sometimes I get in bed at night, put my head on my pillow, and realize I just ran around the entire day and laying in bed is the first time I’ve relaxed all day! Ha! Like I said before, I have a super supportive husband who helps me in so many ways. We are such a great team. Without his support, help, and encouragement, I wouldn’t be able to wear all these hats. But honestly, staying extremely organized and making constant to-do lists is the only way I can consistently get things done and be productive. I would be absolutely lost without my Day Designer planner by my side.”
In your free time, what is your favorite thing to do (besides shop, of course)! 😉
“Well yes, shopping is for sure my absolute favorite hobby! But traveling is a close second! I love seeing the world, experiencing new cities, dining at fun restaurants, and of course putting together a cute outfit to wear while I’m traveling is the icing on the cake.”
What is your ideal date night with your husband?
“We love wine tasting. Like a LOT. We live about 45 minutes from Napa, so exploring all the beautiful wineries in wine country every month is so fun for us. I guess that would be considered a date day! For a date night, we love opening a good bottle of wine and creating a delicious meal at home together. Simple but romantic!”
Thanks so much for giving us a peek inside your world, Ashley! (P.S. Can’t wait to see you at NYFW this fall!) 😉
